“Honestly I’m not sure how I’ve managed to stay in university. it definitely feels a very lonely world when you’re the one expected to fix it all”

One customer has secured a full time post; his dad says he is a different person now he is back at work. He writes” Hi sorry i wont be able to make it in myself this week or next week so my dad is going to pick my food up for me if that’s ok?. Just to let you know I won’t be coming anymore after that as I have started working full time and once I have worked a week in hand, I won’t be needing anymore support from the kitchen but could you please thank all the staff for me and tell them I am very grateful for everything they have done for me and my family and they are all a credit to the kitchen.”

Christmas 2025

BCK provided Christmas parcels to struggling families nominated by their local primary school within Bingley. This included 124 children each who received Christmas selection box. The parcels also included treats for the entire families. The Christmas Elves aka the Holly House Foundation Trust delivered the parcels to the schools who were extremely grateful for the help BCK provided.

Comment from a recipient of a Christmas parcel:

·       I would like to thank the community kitchen & the school for our hamper. As the carers of a child in care who attends (P), it was a very pleasant surprise. This will allow us to spend our allowance on other things to give him a better Christmas. Thank you.
