One customer has secured a full time post; his dad says he is a different person now he is back at work. He writes” Hi sorry i wont be able to make it in myself this week or next week so my dad is going to pick my food up for me if that’s ok?. Just to let you know I won’t be coming anymore after that as I have started working full time and once I have worked a week in hand, I won’t be needing anymore support from the kitchen but could you peas thank all the staff for me and tell them I am very grateful for everything they have done for me and my family and they are all a credit to the kitchen.”
The Bingley Community Kitchen Project has supported needy families through the Covid 19 pandemic by providing meals cooked by volunteers until the schools returned in September.
During the pandemic Bingley Community Kitchen has certainly provided a much-needed resource for families within the Bingley community. Our volunteers have done an amazing job cooking well over a thousand take away meals for identified families. In addition, our bags of food were given to families containing both fresh, tinned and packet foods. We thought it very important to ensure families received nutritious, well balanced meals and so food parcels included a plentiful supply of fruit and vegetables, fresh milk, eggs, cheese and bread as well as the food typically provided by the local foodbank.
Families were very appreciative of the support provided by the Community Kitchen.
